The King's Wells
In the reign of Charles II, the King's Wells near Cuffley were the height of fashion. The water was rich in iron, and visitors came out from London to take the cure. The king is said to have sent down a tent for their comfort. Little remains to see today, but it is a lovely story to tell on a walk through the parish.
