The people who make Northaw
Every village guide can show you a church and a pub. What makes Northaw special is who keeps them going.
The woodland volunteers
The Friends of Northaw Great Wood give up their weekends to coppice birch, open old rides and make space for wildlife, so that the rest of us can enjoy the autumn colour.
The innkeepers
From the 16th-century Two Brewers to the restored former Sun, now Judges, the village's hosts keep alive a tradition of hospitality on the green that goes back centuries.
The parish
The church of St Thomas à Becket, the village school founded in 1879 and King James' Fund, still supporting the parish four centuries on, all tie Northaw's people to its past.
